Located in the state of Arunachal Pradesh and an ultimate place to visit, East Kameng is one of the largest districts of Arunachal Pradesh in India. Seppa is the district headquarters of the city and major area of the region remains covered with the Himalayas.

Festivals in East Kameng are celebrated with much grandeur. The major festivals of East Kameng include:

Behdeinkhlam Festival:One of the most important and colourful festivals in the state of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, Behdeinkhlam Festival is held for three days during the month of July at Jowai. The meaning of the festival signifies 'driving away of evil by wooden sticks'. It is connected with a sequence of religious rituals. People dance on the streets and promote friendship and unity among each other by beating drums and playing pipes.

Laho Dance:The local people of the district have another amusing dance festival called the Laho dance. Both males and females takes part in this dance festival, usually two young men on either side of a girl, connecting arms together, dance merrily in step.

Chad Sukra:This festival is celebrated during the mid of April or early May every year by the East Kameng people. The locals of the state believe that a farmer can start sowing the seeds on his land after the completion of this festival. The festival is observed as to safeguard the crops of farmers from all forms of the natural calamity.

Attractions in East Kameng                                                                                             

The Three Valleys in Arunachal,East Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh:Pappu Valley, Passa Valley and Pakke Valley together form the Three Valleys.  The valley becomes just ethereal with the lush green spread of trees all around. Lumdung-Pappu Valley is located in Seppa Block, Passa and Pakke Valley are located in Pakke-Kessang Block Head Quarters.

  All three valleys are close to Seppa. Lumdung (Pappu) Valley is 21 Kms, Passa (Rilloh) Valley is 78 Kms and Pakke Valley is 140 Kms from Seppa.

Pakhui Wildlife Sanctuary in Arunachal,East Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh:Pakke Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the most wonderful attractions in the district of East Kameng. In the year 2001, it was declared as Pakhui Wildlife sanctuary and the twenty sixth tiger reserve under Project Tiger of the National Tiger Conservation Authority and on April 23, 2002 it was finally declared as Pakke Tiger Reserve.

The animals and birds that can be seen in this Sanctuary includes Pied falconet, Leopard, Jungle cat, White-cheeked hill-partridge, Jerdon's baza, Tiger, Grey peacock-pheasant, Clouded Leopard, Red-headed Trogon, Hog deer, Wilboar, Green pigeon, Barking Deer, Yellow throated martin, Silver-eared Leiothrix, Malayan Giant and White-bellied Yuhina etc.
